About us!!

The National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) was officially launched on 9 May 1992 by the President of the Republic of Singapore at the Istana. The aim of the NYAA Programme is to encourage young people between the ages of 14 and 25 years to develop personal qualities of self-reliance, perseverance and a sense of responsibility to themselves, to society and to the nation. To date, nearly 130,000 young people in Singapore have been motivated to undertake a variety of voluntary and challenging activities in each of four areas, namely Service, Adventurous Journey, Skills and Physical Recreation. In addition, young people are required to undertake a Residential Project at the Gold level. The criteria for an Award are those of self-improvement and effort as participants are judged on personal achievement and individual capabilities. TP NYAA Challenge serves to promote NYAA participation within the TP community. The interest group assists TP participants by broadcasting NYAA related activities and attend to their general queries, aiming to make their participation a smooth and memorable journey.

Service

60 hours of community service over 12 months.
Eg. Committee member, Peer tutoring, School Ambassador, TPBP Mentor

Skill

Learn a new skill for 18 months, Or 12 months for Silver Awardees.
Eg. Music, DJ, Language, Art, Driving, Public Speaking, Photography

Physical Recreation

40 hours of sports activity over 12 weeks
Eg. Sports, Dance, Yoga, Skating

Adventurous Journey

4 Days 3 Nights expedition in remote surroundings with 32 hours of effort.
Eg.Adventure Club camps, Jungle trekking, Mountaineering, Cycling expedition

Residential Project

To undertake or initiate a project which will serve or have a beneficial impact to the community at large.
Eg. Local or Overseas Community Project
