Project Synopsis
This 12-hour programme is target at youths (minimum of 18 years of age). Based on the concept of Servant Leadership, “Leadership with a Heart” aims to instill in youths a heartbeat for the people they are to lead and society at large. The programme consists of 3 main phases and an optional fourth.

Phase 1: Students will attend a 3 hour workshop where they will be introduced to SG Care Programme by Trainer from National Volunteer & Philanthropy Center (NVPC). During the workshop, they will undergo soft skills training where there will be an emphasis on Emotional Intelligence and Empathy.

Phase 2: Students will be partnered up with an Experienced Volunteer from NVPC to learn practical skills on how to organise a volunteering activity effectively and efficiently. This includes the preparation phase and post-event activities and it provides the students with a complete and holistic view of leading a volunteering activity.

Phase 3: At this stage, the students will be broken into smaller groups where they will now lead their own volunteers in executing the volunteering activities at the organisation that they have chosen to volunteer at. At the same time, there will be an experienced volunteer from NVPC who will be attached to them to guide them along while executing the activity.

Phase 4: At the end of the 3 phases, students will be encouraged to take on greater responsibilities by taking on a leadership role and starting to plan their own activities at the organisation that they have been volunteering at. They will be involved in developing programmes for the organisation and recruiting new volunteers to participate. Students will get to utilise their analytical, creative and management skills as they identify the potential needs of the organisation, propose ways to meet these needs and organise resources to do so.

Students would be required to at least commit for the first 3 phases of the course in order to receive the letter of certification for the completion of the course and SEAL points will only be given upon completion of the 12hour course.
