residential forum on National Security
Hello Everyone!
Here is a residential project for TPNYAA peeps!
The NYAA-GAHA-Sg United Leadership Forum 2011 is jointly organized by the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Council, the NYAA Gold Award Holders’ Alumni (NYAA GAHA) and the Community Engagement Division (CED) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Guided by this year’s theme “Securing Our Future: You Role in the Community”, the forum aims to allow young Singaporeans and Permanent Residences to:
a. Understand and share concerns about issues that may threaten harmonious by living in our society;
b. Gain a deeper understanding about our multi-faceted social fabric from different perspectives;
c. Discuss options to prevent social conflicts;
d. Understand and surface their concerns regarding threats to security; and
e. Suggest ways to deal with security challenges and consequences of potential security crises.
The details of the NYAA_GAHA-Sg United Forum are as follows:
Date : 23 – 25 June 2011
Format : 3 day – 2 night residential project
Venue : National Community Leadership Institute (NACLI)
70 South Buona Vista Road, Singapore 118176
The Forum programme will include on-site visits to introduce youth leaders with the various strategies that Singapore has been using to tackle sensitive social security issues followed by group discussions. The residential project will conclude with a plenary session on 25 June 2011 for youths to present their ideas to the Guest-of-Honour Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of State for Education and Home Affairs.

MY Mentoring Programme 3 (MY MP3)
YMCA Community and Youth outreach department are looking for student volunteers for a school-based mentoring programme for underachieving students from neighboring primary schools. This programme is entitling MY Mentoring Programme 3 (MY MP3).
The mentors for this programme are student volunteers from various junior colleges, polytechnics, undergraduate students from universities and ex-teachers.
The mentoring sessions are on every Wednesday afternoon, from 2.30pm – 4.30pm. The commitment is only required for 10 sessions from 18 May onwards till end Aug and if they have any queries on this, please feel free to contact :
